My Review
The fourth installment in the Silver Series follows a female perspective for the first time. That of Colleen, a normal girl turned werewolf after dying in a car accident. Colleen is now my second favorite character in the series, after Jet. Here we finally see a female character who isn't afraid to get in on the action and takes great risks to protect those she loves. She and Rafe heal each other through the power of love in a heart warming and touching romance which shows that sometimes people aren't who they seem to be.
As Colleen and her brother, Kaynen, try to rebuild their lives after being subjected to terrible experiments, they find themselves hounded at every turn for reasons beyond their control. The scientists who created them seek to make more such werewolves while the government seeks to stop that from happening at any cost.
Violet is an intense read which explores both the depths of human depravity and the heights of its virtue and nobility. Loyalty, love, and the willingness to commit acts of selflessness for the sake of others is a running theme throughout the Silver Series. If you enjoy YA paranormal that's intense and satisfying, you don't want to pass this one up.
